Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Building Inspector I. The Building Inspector I reports to the Building Inspector Senior. The primary job duties of this position include:

  • Perform inspections and coordinate related inspection activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, specifications, plans and ordinances.
  • Review building and site plans, engineering reports, electrical diagrams and other inspection-related documents.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of inspections and code compliance activities.
  • Document and enter inspection information in computer databases.
  • Coordinate with all parties to obtain and verify approval of plans or to facilitate proper procedures in adherence to codes, regulations and standards
  • Respond to complaints and questions regarding potential code violations.
  • Conduct field inspections of residential structures and/or materials to include structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire sprinklers and related systems;

About You

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in construction, construction management, framing, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or related field.
  • 2 International Code Council Certifications from the residential inspector category (Building) or obtained within one year of hire.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License.

This position requires a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
