Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Utility Technician Senior – Asset Protection. The Utility Technician Senior – Asset Protection reports to the Utility Supervisor. The primary functions of this position include:
- Identifying and verifying underground utilities using locating equipment, GIS systems, mapping tools, and as-built plans
- Documenting all locate and asset-related activities accurately using Utilisphere software
- Collaborating with the Asset Protection Specialist to verify and update water infrastructure assets in the Town's GIS database
- Serving as the on-site field lead, providing mentorship, training, and quality control for crew members
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and Town procedures while exercising independent judgment in the field

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Arizona drivers license
- One (1) year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in water/wastewater or related field
- Five (5) years or more of experience in operating heavy equipment and/or performing construction methods and practices related to underground utilities
- Two (2) years of lead worker, crew leader, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work varied shifts, including days or evenings, overtime as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
Required Licensing & Certification- Must possess one of the following certifications: ADEQ Water Distribution Grade II, or
ADEQ Wastewater Collection Grade II, or A combination of ADEQ Grade I certifications in both Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection - Must obtain and maintain an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate within one year of hire to operate the Town of GIlbert's drone.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
