The Opportunity: Production Scheduler, Goodyear, AZ

The Production Scheduler oversees production scheduling responsibilities for the assigned location. This position is responsible for balancing customer demand, inventory targets, and plant capacity to ensure adequate inventory levels of manufactured products while preventing stock-outs and over-runs. The Production Scheduler partners closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Finance to maintain accurate ERP data, communicate schedule changes, and support timely, cost-effective production.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Plans weekly production needs on each manufactured item and projects total poundage and manufacturing hours required through the week by considering variables such as sales trends, promotions, holidays, scheduled preventive maintenance, sanitation, etc.
  • Integral to all ERP functionality. Works with manufacturing and finance teams to resolve discrepancies, close production runs and address variances.
  • Manages monthly inventory process and takes action to resolve variances.
  • Reviews routing data with finance team to maximize efficient scheduling parameters.
  • Analyzes inventory and demand data from scheduling workbench.
  • Reviews inventories daily and adjusts daily production schedules to meet inventory requirements by communicating schedule changes with affected supervisors.
  • Provides computer-generated daily schedules for next-day manufacturing for all production lines at the Kindig manufacturing plant and reviews priorities with supervisors.
  • Communicates seasonal production with National Accounts team to meet projections and ship dates.
  • Communicates weekly planning, schedule updates, weight, price, or case pack changes, new and discontinued items.
  • Works closely with Purchasing Team to order and coordinate raw materials and packaging components.
  • Works frequently with various committees who determine promotional schedules and needs, new items, production changes, ERP implementation etc.
  • Responds to daily Redline reports with production updates per SKU.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, inventory control, or a related role preferred.
  • Hands-on experience using ERP systems and production scheduling tools; ability to support data accuracy, issue resolution, and closeout of production runs.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Production/Operations, Purchasing, and Finance to align schedules, materials, and inventory reporting.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery capabilities, and production set-ups.
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret demand and inventory data to make scheduling decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate schedules and changes with supervisors and cross-functional partners.
  • Familiarity with product specifications (weights, case packs, pricing, and UPCs) preferred.
