The City is currently recruiting for a key leadership role within the Human Resources Department. This position offers the opportunity to lead high-performing teams and contribute to impactful citywide initiatives.

Human Resources Supervisor – Benefits

We are seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Benefits Supervisor to oversee the City’s benefits operations. In this role, you will lead a team of Benefits Analysts, ensuring efficient day-to-day administration while driving strategic initiatives in policy development, compliance, and system enhancements. You will collaborate with Procurement, IT, and external vendors to deliver a seamless and engaging benefits experience for employees. This position plays a vital role in maintaining regulatory compliance, implementing new programs, and serving as a trusted resource for staff and employees alike.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification from SHRM (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) and/or HRCI (e.g., PHR or SPHR) preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, organization, collaboration, and client service, with a proactive approach to exceeding expectations.
  • Proven ability to remain adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience working within a municipal or public sector setting is highly desirable.

Effective June 14, 2026, the salary range for this position is $88,670.40 - $120,889.60 annually.

Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $104,748.80/annually.


Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years' professional level human resources or organizational development experience and at least one year of lead or management experience in people or projects.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements:
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
